In Vitro Fertilization or more popularly known as IVF is a clinical procedure by which a couple can conceive a child through artificial means. It is one of the most commonly employed methods of treating infertility, at many IVF centers in Bangalore. IVF, since its inception, has almost doubled the success rates associated with infertility treatment, and hence, a few of the most common reasons for opting for IVF are:

  • It helps the individual screen for genetic issues well before implantation, thus reducing side effects

  • Conquers the sperm’s inability to swim to the egg

IVF procedure would usually begin with the doctor monitoring your health conditions. Once the results are received and the doctor believes that the patient has produced enough mature eggs, the eggs are then retrieved and blended with the sperms received from the donor / partner for the fertilization to occur. The process is then monitored for a few days until the embryos are formed. Once the embryos reach maturity, the doctors would proceed to the Embryo Transfer stage.

Embryo Transfer helps the embryo attach to the inner lining of the uterus. In order to increase the success rates, the doctors will sometimes implant more than one embryo. While the process of childbirth is a divine experience, IVF has come proven to be a boon for couples who otherwise might not be able to conceive naturally on their own. Thus, it is very important to not only know the process but also the other aspects which you must expect while bringing a newborn into this world through IVF.

While infertility treatment in Bangalore is the most common reason for one to opt for IVF, it can also be used to screen / diagnose issues such as the risk of ectopic pregnancy, which again would otherwise require minimally-invasive surgery.

Most of the IVF centers in Bangalore would recommend you to either go for a PGT or a PGT-A, which are tests that detect genetic abnormalities, if any, in the embryos and reduce the risk of these abnormalities affecting the newborn. PGT is employed to detect certain known genetic defects, while on the other hand a PGT-A test picks the embryos with the correct count of chromosomes.

IVF cost in Bangalore may vary from centre to centre but it is more important to ensure that the medical facility from where you get the treatment done is well equipped for the same. IVF not only requires highly advanced clinics but also state-of-the art infrastructure and dedicated, experienced professionals, which you will find at NU Fertility.
